The Power Of The TeamThe financial melt-down continues to hurt families and individuals across the US and around the world. NOW THE GOOD NEWS…What we are experiencing is ‘change’…profound change and with change comes opportunity…with profound change comes profound opportunity. Emerging from the carnage is a golden era for innovators and entrepreneurs. Efficient, well managed, agile and moderately geared businesses can do things differently, identify new opportunities to grow and prosper, and deliver for all stakeholders and the community at large real, long term value. One of the real benefits of Military Network is that it brings a focus to a unique highly trained, competent group of people; people who share a similar background and experience, who learned to work as a team, trust each other with their lives; each acting as the eyes and ears of the other; knowing that each team member was going to do his/her very best to complete the task at hand. That team is YOU, our members, and this is an opportunity to once again work with each other as a team, to support each other during this crisis and come out the other side stronger and in better shape than the rest of the community. This is your unique competitive advantage! Harness the full power of the network…Start working together, share job or business opportunities with your fellow veterans and families and they will be shared in return. If you own or run a business, identify yourself with a free business listing on MILNET Business Directory. Also, let us know how else you would like to be involved e.g. Unique skill-set or service, special rates, exclusive offers, business for sale, job vacancy, business support services, newsletter content, advertising on the site or ‘radio’. This is the first step in leading a “Veteran-Driven Economic Recovery” and it is our privilege to be able to work with you to make that happen. Share the power of the team!

I am a small business owner and a veteran of Desert Storm. How could this organization help my business and how could I help this organization?
I am a service disabled veteran owned Architecture firm. Does this network have other A/E design firms and design build contractor members. SAVR Inc. Is here to help other firms team with a quality Architect to purse projects with sdvob and vob set asides. Please feel free to visit my website http://www.savrarc.com or email eshearn@savrarc(dot)com.
Gregg, thanks for responding. We are proud to be able to help you.
Firstly, we are not an organization. Mike and I recognized the serious challenges and hardships that Veterans and families are facing during this economic crisis. We chose to do something about it by contributing our time, money and resources to establish and build a forum that brings together Veterans nationally to work together to provide priority hiring of Veterans and their families and also to give Veteran owned businesses priority in all purchasing decisions to help them survive and grow.
We have captured our mission and our goals succinctly on the homepage. The response from the military community in just a short time has been extraordinary. We have received offers of support from all quarters and we are working with these members to rapidly to pull this together into a range of focused services and options.
Our first priorities as outlined are jobs for Veterans and support for Veteran businesses. We yesterday launched the MilNet job search facility, providing access to more than 4 million jobs nationally. We are about to release another major initiative to support and help build Veteran owned businesses. Other initiatives we have in train in conjunction with other Veteran owned businesses will help transitioning Veterans establish their own businesses; access preferred funding facilities; assist with Veteran housing; focused training; personal development; buiness advice and guidance and others.
Gregg, if you can send us details of your business, your unique skills/experience, any special deals you may have for Veteran consumers we will work with you to outline a strategy to move forward.
I hope this response has adequately addressed your query.
We look forward to working with you.
Erik, thanks for bringing your services to the community’s attention. Yes, we do have other members in your field and/or closely related fields. Your ‘Teaming’ services are exactly what we need to help improve Veteran businesses chances of securing government contracts.
Firstly, to bring your services to the attention of a greater number of members, can you post your article on the Bulletin Board (tag at top of page).
Secondly, we are about to release another major initiative as described in our response to Gregg above, that will organize and focus Veteran owned businesses. We will announce this as soon as it is available.
I will confirm this in an email to you along with the contact details of an A/E design firm who requested assistance this morning.
Thanks for being part of the Military Network community. We are proud to be working with you.
Erik, I have sent you details by email of a member who posted a request for assistance with securing government contracts. I hope the introduction results in driving new business for your both. Please let us know how you go.
Regards,
Steve and Mike
Ed’s message is as follows:
“Gentlemen
I am the most highly qualified SDVOSB General Contractor in Nevada. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. After engineering school I worked for the DOD at the Naval Ordinance Lab and in the Trident Sub Program for two years. I have been a Licensed General Contractor for thirty ( 30 ) years.
I have been to conventions and seminars until the cows came home. Nothing. My efforts have produced nothing. Veterans come last. My challenge to you is, get me contracts so I can employ veterans.
Stop talking and start doing.
Regards, Ed Mahoney”
