Veteran Entrepreneur Finds Success In Franchising And So Can YouKOAA TV-Colorado Springs September 11th, 2009 Click Here To Watch Video Click Here To Get Started Wilfred Vincent is a man with a plan, a business plan that is. Now that he’s left the Army, the former infantryman wants to be his own boss as the owner of a Knockouts Haircuts for Men franchise. He’s getting help starting the business, which he describes as “Hooters meeting haircuts” from Nicholas Gray whose franchise brokerage company NG Enterprises specializes in helping veterans to start businesses. “Veterans, they make great business owners because they’re able to go ahead and follow a proven system, a model so to speak, as they did in the military,” Gray said. As a combat veteran and Army Reservist himself, Gray experienced firsthand the roadblocks that can often make the transition from military to business world difficult.“I knew I couldn’t be the only person looking for business ownership rather than just a job,” he said. “So, I saw a golden opportunity to go ahead and help myself, create a company but also go ahead and help some veterans as well.” For vets like Vincent, the path to entrepreneurship couldn’t have been easier thanks to the trail the Gray blazed. He plans to open his first Knockouts salon early next year and currently looking at properties near Fort Carson. To help recruit more veterans to become entrepreneurs Gray has launched “Operation Warrior Entrepreneur”, a contest with a grand prize of $50,000 in start up money along with free marketing and accounting services for veterans who sign up.
